The internship will be starting 1 January 2018 and run for six months in Boston, USA
 
Your tasks
swissnex Boston, an initiative of Switzerland’s State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI), managed in cooperation with the Department of Foreign Affairs, is a diverse team of relentless networkers devoted to connecting Switzerland and North America in science, education, art and innovation. Your tasks in the joint internship will be: Assist the coordination of projects at the intersection of art, science and technology (from design to architecture, digital arts, graphic design, research etc.) with the opportunity to proactively take part in their conception and on-site implementation as well as to meet relevant stakeholders; promote the Swiss art and design schools; conduct research and expand swissnex Boston’s network for future collaborative projects with Swiss and US institutions; strengthen the visibility of FHNW’s Academy of Art and Design / the ECAM Graduate School and Swiss Cultural Entrepreneurship by promoting the institutions and their activities through the organization of different events and workshops; acquire sponsors for events and exhibitions; assist the promotion and realization of international exhibitions and discussions to promote the next generation in art and design; act as the liaison between the swissnex Boston office, FHNW’s Academy of Art and Design / the ECAM Graduate School and Swiss Cultural Entrepreneurship regarding events that will be organized collaboratively; manage the online promotion on various social media channels and agency platforms. The position is limited until 30 June 2018.
 
Your profile
Enrolled student at FHNW’s Academy of Art and Design or holder of a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree from the Academy not older than one year at the beginning of the internship; fluency in English; good knowledge of the Swiss but also international contemporary art and design scenes and practices linked with new technologies; interest in artistic, design and media-based research and/or cultural entrepreneurship; enthusiasm, curiosity, reliability and great communication skills; detail orientation and excellent organizational skills; an open mind and flexibility; comfortable and able to perform in a fast-paced environment / resistant to stress; creativity in instant problem-solving situations; autonomy and team focus; ability to work with an on-site and virtual setup. Applicants must be Swiss citizens or have a valid C permit. The total duration of internships in the federal government after graduation may not exceed 12 months.
